Benevolent Funds & Charitable Organizations

Below are the Benevolent Funds of the Association and a list of just some of the charitable organizations that benefit from the proceeds realized from the NCOA Military Career Expo Program.

NCOA Scholarship Fund - Established in 1970, its single purpose is to help dependents of NCOA members to continue their education beyond high school. To date, the Scholarship Fund has awarded nearly $1.3 million in non-repayable scholarships.

NCOA Disaster Relief Fund - Established in 1994 to assist enlisted military personnel with immediate disaster-related expenses. Grants have been awarded to personnel in all five branches of the Armed Forces to include Guard and Reserve Components to assist with emergency needs in bombing situations, fires, floods, hurricanes, typhoons and tornadoes.

NCOA Vanguard Tribute - The Non Commissioned Officers Association takes great pride in honoring five true American Heroes during our Annual Convention held each July at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, NV. The five award recipients are outstanding NCOS’s chosen by their branch of service in recognition of an act of extreme heroism. The Vanguard’s receive a 5 day trip to Las Vegas with their spouse or other family member. The highlight of their trip, and of the Convention, is the Tribute Banquet where their stories are told and they receive their award.

Snowball Express - This is a Christmas Holiday event that provides hope and new memories to the children of military fallen heroes who have died while on active duty since 9/11. As the Official Fraternal Arm of Snowball Express, NCOA’s Headquarters, Chapters and Members will continue to raise funds ($25,000 to date) for this amazing program.

The Fort Worth Airpower Foundation/Sky Ball - FWPAC is a non-profit foundation raising money in support of our military and their families. Over the past four years Sky Ball has raised more than $4.5 million dollars.

The Air Force Enlisted Village - The AFEV’s primary mission is to offer housing and financial assistance to surviving spouses of enlisted Air Force members. Those spouses with the greatest need have priority.

The Dixon Center - NCOA was honored to have Col. David Sutherland as its keynote speaker at the 2013 NCOA Convention & Vanguard Tribute. Col. Sutherland serves as Chairman of the Staff Sergeant Donnie D. Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Community Services which honors the service and sacrifice of Staff Sergeant Dixon by addressing the urgent needs of military service members and veterans, their families, and the families of the fallen.

Special Operations Warrior Foundation - Ensures full scholarship grants as well as educational and family counseling to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty and immediate financial assistance for severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.

Friends of Freedom / No One Left Behind (NOLB) - Believes that America’s military veterans and similarly impacted first responders deserve the full measure of care and assistance they need to live with dignity, hope and independence. Their purpose is to facilitate the transition from military to civilian life by creating the programs and building the structure that will ensure the most efficient delivery of healing services to the anticipated hundreds of thousands of veterans expected to reside in Arizona in the coming years.
